Whiles performing his rightful duties as a Police Officer, Nuhu Abubakar stormed the illegal mining site at Awukukrom in the Suaman District of the Western North Region to arrest those engaging in the illicit act.
The illegal miners got wind of the police presence and swam across the river to the other side. He tried to pursue them and confiscate the equipment used.
Sadly, he fell into the river which is popularly known as Sui in an attempt and died. it is another sad day for Mother Ghana, the police department, and the family of the late officer.
Video has emerged of the final moments the police officer was carried by a team of young men on a stretcher. He was wearing his blue uniform and conveyed in a vehicle to the Sehwi Wiawso Government hospital.
The Police are yet to begin investigations and ascertain the cause of his death. May his would rest in perfect peace.
