[Video] Old Video Of Some Ghanaians Calling Mahama A ‘Thief’ In Nicaragua Pops Up

It has been a rather interesting week as Ghanaians witnessed a rather interesting spectacle at the Global Citizen Festival in Accra. The event which was held to create awareness about eradicating poverty saw President Akufo-Addo deliver the keynote address to the massive crowd. The president called in the youth to be proactive in finding solutions to the problems of Ghana.

Government Communicators descended on the opposition for being the masterminds of the booing of the president. They explain that the opposition are bent on destroying the president and so will do anything possible to damage the reputation of the president on any international platform. The NDC also responded as Sammy Gyamfi sent a strong signal to the NPP that what happened was a reflection of how Ghanaians feel.

Well, a video of Mahama being booed in Nicaragua in 2016 has popped up on social media and is trending. Many are saying that Mahama had to endure this humiliation in another country and called on Akufo-Addo to take it easy because his boos came while he was in Ghana. Though the people booing in the video cannot be given any political ties, it is easy to conclude that they will be NPP since the NDC was in power then.

In the video, it could clearly be heard that the protestors who had merged with the cheering crowd hooted at John Mahama and called him a thief. Yayra Koku who posted the video on Facebook questioned Ransford Gyampo if he was around when Mahama was booed. The lecturer had earlier condemned the boos and said that the seat of the President should be respected.

Were those booing at John Mahama NPP supporters or just Ghanaians who felt frustrated with the economic conditions of the country?
