We thought our only rival was Tinubu, we never knew they had a different plan- Charles Aniagwu

Charles Aniagwu, a spokesperson for the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign council, has stated that the PDP thought Bola Tinubu would be their rival and was not aware that the APC had chosen a different rival for the poll.

Charles Aniagwu agrees that there shouldn’t be any further deadline extensions, contrary to Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate, who claimed that the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria should not give in to blackmail because Nigerians are suffering. In an interview with Channels Television for the 2023 Verdict program, Seun Okinbaloye questioned him about the statement and demanded an explanation.

Charles Aniagwu responded to Atiku Abubakar’s assertion that the CBN shouldn’t make a shift by saying that Atiku thought the CBN should ensure that the newly redesigned naira notes were issued.

Charles Aniagwu stated that a lot of blackmail comes from the ruling party, which is supposed to support the administration’s primary initiatives, and that it is disappointing that this is the case.

But “when we started our campaign in the latter half of 2021 and at the beginning of 2022, when Atiku was designated the PDP’s presidential candidate, we assumed that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu would eventually be our rival. We were unaware that they had chosen a different opponent, though. They are not facing us or the Nigerian people now that they are in front of the president. Furthermore, we are asking with them to grant the president’s request so he can carry out his promise to leave a legacy of fair elections.
