“You Have Touched My Heart” Wetangula Tells James Orengo Over His Remarks During Ruto’s Siaya Visit

The Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula on Saturday praised Siaya Governor James Orengo following his bold remarks during President William Ruto’s visit to Asembo in Siaya County.

Ruto who was the chief guest led other leaders his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua, Wetangula and also the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi among others for the home coming and thanksgiving ceremony of the ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo.

During his speech, Wetangula said that Orengo’s remarks that ‘we have no spare country,’ is a bold message that all Kenyans should always remember, and thus come together and unite.

“Orengo is a very vibrant politician, sometimes more active when he is opposing that when he is supporting. Today, you have spoken and touched my heart that where you are (Azimio) and where we are (Kenya Kwanza), and where we shall all be, know that we will never have a spare country, it is only one Kenya,” he said.

He also thanked and saluted Kenyans for maintaining peace and moving on with their daily activities after the August 9th polls which was hotly contested, saying that Kenyans will never again fight because of politics.

He lauded Ruto for being on the fore front of uniting Kenyans, saying that is the first step towards development.

In his remarks, Orengo said that he will work closely with the national government, further imploring upon the president to appoint more people from the Luo Nyanza region to his government.

He also criticized elected leaders who are already talking about the 2027 polls, saying that it is time to deliver on what they promised Kenyans during the campaigns.

Ruto affirmed that he will not leave any region behind whether they voted for him, or for his opponents.
