Education Minister Fayval Williams is adamant that there is no widespread migration of teachers.
However, the Education Minister said only some schools are experiencing the problem.
The ministry is estimating that about 1,200 teachers could leave the education system this year.
But Mrs Williams admitted that "generally teachers resign after they get their August paycheck so maybe, going into September, we'll have some increased numbers".
Mrs Williams said the ministry is looking to employ graduates from teachers colleges to fill the void.
While they may not have the same level of experience as their counterparts who are leaving, the minister said the employment of teachers who recently graduated was the "route of refreshing the teaching industry".
The Education Minister, who was speaking Wednesday on the Morning Agenda on Power 106, said about 80 teachers have so far tendered their resignations ahead of the new school term.
She said her ministry will provide additional support to school administrators experiencing challenges with replacing teachers who are leaving the classroom.
She added that the ministry will also ensure that in the long term, there are programmes to attract teachers into the industry and assist with their continued development during their tenure.
