The Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce has called for the government to act swiftly to address perennial flooding.
The Chamber further notes that it is open to discussions to find a solution to the current situation and prevent further distress in the twin-island republic.
It said the authorities must do what is in their control to urgently address these issues to mitigate the loss of income, loss and damage to property, and loss of production.
It also noted that businesses are being affected by the impacts of inclement weather.
The joint chambers, consisting of AMCHAM T&T, Energy Chamber of Trinidad & Tobago, Trinidad & Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and Trinidad & Tobago Manufacturers’ Association, donated $250,000 to Sewa TT to support their flood relief efforts.
