Third cop charged with St. Andrew tiler's murder denied bail

The third cop charged with the murder of St. Andrew tiler Phillip Wallace last month, was denied bail when he appeared in the Gun Court Division of the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on Thursday.

Police Constable Kemar Dennis, 23, is to reappear in court on September 6.

Mr. Dennis' attorneys, Peter Champagnie QC and Richard Lynch, gave notice to appeal the judge's decision.

Constable Dennis was charged with murder after returning from the United States.

Mr. Dennis, who is accused of fleeing the island after the murder of Mr. Wallace on July 16, argued that travel arrangements were made months before the incident.

Additionally, his attorneys asserted that he could not have committed the offence because he was at the airport at the time.
