Gaza University celebrates 51st UAE National Day

GAZA, 7th December, 2022 (WAM) - The University of Gaza has organised a large-scale celebration on the occasion of the 51st UAE National Day. The function was attended by the representative of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Ibrahim Abu Al-Naga; the Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Riyad Al-Khodary; and the President of the University, Dr. Hassan Abu Jarad, along with a number of Palestinian officials.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, delivered a recorded speech before the ceremony, in which he expressed the UAE's appreciation of the Palestinian initiative to observe the 51st National Day.

"I want to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to you all, brothers and sisters, for joining us in celebrating the 51st National Day. This is a joyous occasion for us to celebrate how the UAE has developed into a prosperous nation that is keeping up with all the demands of the modern world. A state that pursues development and advancement while being true to itself and striving to promote tolerance, peace, and love throughout the world," said Sheikh Nahyan.

For his part, the president of the University extended his sincere greetings to the President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates on the national occasion. He valued the UAE's support for the Palestinian people in all aspects of life.

"The UAE support is always present in the minute details of the Palestinians' lives and diaries, manifesting itself in the Palestinian neighbourhoods, facilities, educational, health, and economic sectors, as well as in all Palestinian governorates and Jerusalem," he said, highlighting in this regard the UAE support to the Palestinians through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
