23 injured on Anniversary of Zahedan attack sparks concerns

On the anniversary of the Zahedan attack, Iranian media reported at least 23 people injured in clashes between the military and protesters.

In Sistan and Baluchestan, people in Zahedan, Soran, and Rask have protested on the first anniversary of “Bloody Friday in Zahedan,” chanting anti-government slogans.

Videos of this march circulating on social media show several military personnel in security uniforms surrounding Zahedan’s Makki Mosque and engaging in gunfire.

According to reports, Iranian military forces have detained an unspecified number of protesters.

During these incidents, Claudia Tenney, a member of the United States House of Representatives, and Hanna Neumann, a representative of Germany in the European Parliament, condemned the Iranian government’s suppression of protesters.

Claudia Tenney, expressing regret over the crackdown on protesters, emphasized her “solidarity” with the country’s people and stated that this violence by the Revolutionary Guard is “hateful.”

Meanwhile, in the security forces’ attack on Zahedan, Iran, on September 30th of the previous year, known as the “Bloody Friday in Zahedan,” at least 105 individuals were killed, and over 300 others were wounded.
