Pakistan Cricket Team back in India for World Cup 2023 after 7 years

The Pakistan cricket team, captained by Babar Azam, arrived in India for the ICC World Cup 2023, marking their first visit to India since the 2016 T20 World Cup.

Except for Mohammad Nawaz, none of the players in the Pakistan squad have previous experience playing in India. The upcoming ODI World Cup will present a significant challenge, demanding the team’s skill and mental fortitude.

Having arrived in India via Dubai, the national team has touched down in Hyderabad. Their schedule includes two warm-up matches and the first two ODI World Cup clashes against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka.

Pakistan’s highly expected match during the ODI World Cup will occur on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where they will go head-to-head with India.

The Pakistan cricket team encountered substantial visa-related hurdles in the lead-up to the 2023 World Cup in India. Delays in visa approvals disrupted their pre-tournament preparations significantly.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) raised concerns with the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the visa delay, citing its adverse impact on the team’s preparedness for the event.

The Pakistan cricket team, facing visa-related challenges, secured their visas on September 25, just in time to depart to Hyderabad, where they were scheduled to play their first warm-up match against New Zealand.
