Wayne Bennett has slammed Anthony Seibold accusing the Broncos coach of a series of lies prior to this weekend’s grudge match between Souths and Brisbane.
Bennett and Seibold swapped roles at the back end of 2018 but the feud has not stopped there.
Claims came out of Seibold’s camp suggesting that the veteran Bennett had already been interfering before he arrived at Redfern.
Bennett was accused of calling Rabbitohs hooker Damien Cook, something he flat out denied.

“If you thought that this Tevita Pangai development with the Roosters and him also being discussed at the Bulldogs was going to make headlines tomorrow … Wayne has pulled the pin out of the hand grenade and launched it in The Courier Mail,” said Fox League reporter James Hooper on NRL360.
“He’s labelled it absolute bulls*** that he was planning things at Souths while Anthony Seibold was still there.
“He says Anthony Seibold was the one who knifed him, not the other way round.”
In his interview with The Courier Mail, Bennett went nuclear at Seibold.
“It is absolute bull**** that I was planning stuff with Souths while Seibold was there,” Bennett told Peter Badel.
“It’s like many things in life, people only want to muddy the waters when the truth is not told.
“That is the case of my so-called planning with Souths when Seibold was there.
“I didn’t agree to go to South Sydney until the Broncos sacked me. I never once agitated to get out.
“I wanted to fulfil my contract with the Broncos.
“I was approached by the Wests Tigers, but I couldn’t take the job. I gave my word to the Broncos staff and players I would not abandon them for 2019.”
