Crowd Recites Mourner's Kaddish Outside Supreme Court

Solemn crowds recited a Jewish prayer of mourning outside the Supreme Court on Friday night, September 18, shortly after the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg was announced. In a statement, the court said that Ginsburg died from complications of pancreatic cancer. A trailblazing figure who advocated for women’s rights before becoming a federal judge in 1980, Ginsburg was nominated to the Supreme Court by President Bill Clinton in 1993. She was 87 at the time of her death. This footage was taken outside the Supreme Court, where the prayer, known as the mourner’s Kaddish, was recited.
