East Troublesome Fire Surrounds Home in Grand Lake

At least two people had died and thousands forced to evacuate as the East Troublesome fire continued to burn in northern Colorado on October 25, local media reported. The fire had burned through more than 192,500 acres and was 10 percent contained as of October 25. It remained unclear how many homes were destroyed by the blaze, but Grand County Sheriff Brett Schroetlin told local media on Thursday there was “lots of structure loss.” Steve Warden said this footage shows flames surrounding his home in Grand Lake on Wednesday night. Warden said nobody was home when the fire approached but the blaze “destroyed” his property. A cold front moving through Colorado on Sunday was expected to provide relief for firefighters. The Denver Post reported that more than a foot of snow was forecast to fall in areas where the Cameron Peak fire and East Troublesome fire were burning. Credit: Steve Warden via Storyful
