Epic $11m Hollywood-style pad has it all

No. 17 March Street, Bellevue Hill is a rare find because its tennis court, pool and alfresco entertainment areas are all on one level and in proximity.

Wealthy Sydney families are going to be fighting over the 1920s-era Hollywood-style mansion of the venture capitalist Squareknot executive director, Michael Seder, and his wife, Kim, which is up for October auction with an $11m price guide.

The four-bedroom, four-bathroom home with double garage at 17 March Street, Bellevue Hill — built on one of the highest spots in the suburb — is listed with Ray White Double Bay’s Ashley Bierman and principal Elliott Placks.

It goes under the hammer on October 24.

“What makes it unique is that the lawn tennis court, and pool and alfresco areas are all on the same level and well-connected,” said Bierman during an exclusive tour for the Wentworth Courier House of the Week.

The interiors of the home have been refurbished by the current owners.

Two of the bedrooms upstairs have harbour glimpses.

The Seders have just finished a complete refurbishment of the home, bought for $7.15m in 2011 from Robbie Fennell, daughter of Sir William Tyree, the late engineer and businessman.

They’ve raised their children here but are now looking to downsize.

Set across a rare, level north-facing 1,086sqm block, the two-level residence has expansive sunlit formal and informal living areas that flow through timber bifolds to the outdoor entertainment areas and the pool.

An aerial view of the 1,086sqm block.

Enjoy summer by the pool, which is private and sun-drenched thanks to the northerly aspect.

Thanks to that northerly aspect, both the pool and full-sized tennis court receive sun most of the day.

The current owners — and the new ones too — can enjoy a game of tennis and immediately jump into the pool to cool off.

There’s a Calacatta marble kitchen and island bench with brand new European appliances.

And the master bedroom upstairs has a breezy walk-in wardrobe, ensuite and private sitting room.

Two of the other bedrooms on this level have harbour glimpses.

Bierman and Placks sold the home of John and Colleen Glajz at 14 March Street on a considerably smaller (809 sqm) block for $9m in March.

And the 1910-era five-bedroom home of former AMP board member Patty Akopiantz and her husband Justin Punch on a 1,167 sqm block sold for $14.7m last November.
