Four men have been charged with attempted murder over an alleged altercation in Brisbane's CBD last week that left a 16-year-old with multiple stab wounds.

Police say they were called to Queen Street about 10.30pm on Friday after reports the four were allegedly involved in a disturbance with the teen.

"Upon arrival, police located the boy who had been punched and then sustained puncture wounds to his torso and back," police said in a statement.

The teen was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's hospital.

On Sunday, police charged an 18-year-old Underwood man, an 18-year-old Heathwood man, a 19-year-old Runcorn man and a 19-year-old man from Kuraby over the alleged incident.

All four will face the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday on one count each of attempted murder, armed robbery, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and going armed to cause fear.
