WHAT NINTENDO SWITCH DEALS SHOULD YOU LOOK OUT FOR?

While we don’t yet know exactly what all the gaming retailers have planned for Black Friday, last year major retailers - including Amazon Australia and JB Hi-Fi - offered discounted prices on packages consisting of both the gaming console and an accompanying game.

Originally $469.95 for a Nintendo Switch alone, in 2019 the console was sold with the popular Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game at Amazon Australia for $349.

WHEN IS BLACK FRIDAY?

Black Friday is on November 27 in 2020 — the Friday after Thanksgiving in the United States, which is always held on the fourth Thursday of November. Perfectly positioned before the holidays, this annual shopping event has spread worldwide, allowing for bargain hunters to save on their Christmas gifts.

WHAT IS THE NINTENDO SWITCH LITE?

Newcomers to the Nintendo Switch may wonder about the difference between the console and its alternative, the Nintendo Switch Lite. Unlike its predecessor - intended for play anywhere, including home - the Nintendo Switch Lite is best for gaming on the go, with integrated controls and its lightweight construction.

It doesn’t support output to a television, but users can still play online or with up to seven other Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Lite consoles nearby.

WHAT IS THE NINTENDO 2DS XL?

The newest of the Nintendo DS family systems, this handheld console is a welcome throwback for the original generation of gamers. Designed to support faster downloading times than its predecessor, and larger, brighter screens, bargain hunters will be keeping an eye out for savings come late November.

IS IT WORTH INVESTING IN A NINTENDO SWITCH?

Whether you choose to invest your money in a Nintendo Switch depends largely on how you like to play games. If you solely play games online and by yourself in front of the television, it’s unlikely you’ll find this handheld console a necessary addition to your home set-up.

However, for those that are looking for versatility of playing options and portability, the Nintendo Switch is hard to pass on.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN SYNC WITH THE NINTENDO SWITCH?

If you play games as a way of socialising with friends and family, you’re probably wondering just how many people can join in on the fun at any one time. Each Nintendo Switch comes with two Joy-Con controllers for multi-player games, and up to 8 consoles (Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Lite) can be synced at a time.

WHAT GAMES CAN YOU PLAY WITH THE NINTENDO SWITCH?

Enjoying a surge in popularity during the outbreak of the coronavirus - and ensuing lockdowns worldwide - is Animal Crossing, the latest addition to the series being Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath In The Wind, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, are other popular titles that can be played on the console.
