Man shot after cop stabbed in face

A man has been shot twice by police after he allegedly stabbed an officer in the face according to reports.

The man was shot by a female police officer in Upper Mount Gravatt in Brisbane after he allegedly stabbed the male officer, 7 News reports. The officer’s injuries are reportedly serious.

The offender and injured male officer have been taken to hospital according to early reports.

The incident occurred about 5pm at Hillgrove St in Upper Mount Gravatt.

Police said in a statement they were “attending an incident on Hillgrove Street at Upper Mount Gravatt.

“A crime scene has been declared as investigations commence.”
