Manhunt for hit-and-run driver after woman pinned to wall in Rosehill

A woman was left badly injured after she was pinned to a wall by a hit-and-run driver in Sydney’s west on Saturday evening.

Police are searching for the driver of a Skoda Octavia allegedly involved in the incident at 6.30pm on Penelope Lucas Lane in Rosehill.

Emergency services arrived on the scene after reports a pedestrian had been struck by a car.

Police were told a man and woman were arguing with an unknown man before he allegedly drove a car at the two pedestrians, pinning the woman against a wall.

The unknown man then reversed and fled in the vehicle.

The 41-year-old woman was treated at the scene for a severe lower leg injury and taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

The 37-year-old man suffered a minor foot injury and did not need to be hospitalised.

Officers at Cumberland Police Area Command and detectives are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

They conducted an extensive search of the area and found the car on Crown Street in Harris Park.

The driver had already fled the scene, police said.

The man is described as being of African appearance, with short curly hair, wearing a red basketball jersey and shorts.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers (1800 333 000).
