Search for man missing in Alpine National Park

A search is under way for a 23-year-old man missing in Victoria's Alpine National Park since Friday afternoon.

He is believed to have left the Providence Spur Track, north of Dargo, about 5pm, a Victoria Police spokesman said.

Local police, assisted by search and rescue officers and the air wing, began searching for the man on Friday night and resumed about 8am, Saturday.

State Emergency Service crews from Stratford and Maffra along with local bushwalkers have joined the search.
