A luxury home on the prestigious Barwon Heads golf course has hit the market with $10 million price hopes.

The Lempriere family behind the Melbourne wool merchant and processor has listed the Simon Swaney-designed residence, built from rammed earth and overlooking the first six holes of the famous links course.

The five-bedroom home at 2-4 Stephens Parade, Barwon Heads, is packaged with a neighbouring house and is expected to sell for a combined value of more than $10 million.

RT Edgar, Barwon Heads agent Peter Molloy has launched an international search for a buyer, that’s already sparked interest from North America and has locals talking.

“We’ve already had interest from the United States. It’s going to go absolutely ballistic,” he said.

A walking track leads to 13th Beach.

“The word of mouth has been very strong – I’m trying to keep a lid on it so everyone gets a fair run at it.”

It’s been described as a once in 100 year opportunity.

“Nothing else has come up that’s like it that’s got uninterrupted ocean views, Port Phillip Heads, the first six holes of Barwon Heads Golf Club,” Mr Molloy said.

“It’s beside the seventh fairway, then you’ve got Stephens Parade, a bit of ti-tree and then the ocean,” he said.

The house exudes earthy tones, with timber-lined cathedral ceilings, recycled blackbutt floorboards and Mount Angus sandstone showcased inside.

The living zones create a relaxed beachside lifestyle with every window capturing a picturesque outlook.

Mr Molloy said it built by BDH Constructions.

“It was one of the first houses that Jarrod Liebhardt built, who’s a local Barwon Heads boy,” he said

“It has stood the test of time. The rammed earth is stunning.

“And the other house, well it’s due for a makeover. It’s pretty solid but they didn’t build it to get the views, put it that way.”

But the question on everyone’s lips, does it come with club membership?

“Some people would wish that, but they have to go through the process,” Mr Molloy said.

“It’s a very good club, a very welcoming club and one of the world renowned golf courses and here you are there’s two houses you can buy right on your doorstep.”

The expressions of interest campaign closes on November 27.
