Two boys today (August 5) drowned in Kapotaksha river in Maheshpur upazila of Jhenaidah.
The deceased were identified as Jim Hossain (14), and Sabbir Hossain (9) of Hospital Para in the upazila, reports our Jhenaidah correspondent.

Their bodies were later recovered around 4:30pm, said Abdus Sobhan, sub-officer of Maheshpur fire service station.
The two boys went to the river near their houses in the afternoon on a boat along with others. At one point the boat capsized. While others managed to swim ashore, Jim and Sabbir remained missing, the fire official said.
Locals immediately conducted searches and also informed the fire service. Later, fire service personnel went to the spot and recovered their bodies, Abdus Sobhan added.
Salim Miah, officer-in-charge of Maheshpur Police Station, confirmed the matter to The Daily Star.
