A 23-year-old man died after being electrocution in Ranisankail upazila of Thakurgaon this (October 5, 2022) afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Md Alam of Padampur-Umradangi village, reports our Thakurgaon correspondent quoting police.

Quoting locals, SM Zahid Iqbal, officer-in-charge of Ranishankail Police Station, said one Moktar Hossain of the same village tied an electric meter to a mango tree next to his house for connection of his irrigation pump.
Due to incessant rain throughout the night, the mango tree was somehow electrified. When Alam touched the tree, he was electrocuted and died on the spot.
The OC said he visited the spot after the incident. The family was permitted to bury the body as there was no complaint from the family of the deceased.
