3 killed in road accidents

At least three persons were killed and five others injured in road accidents in Pabna and Rajbari today.

In Pabna, two people were killed and two injured when a truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in front of SM Model School and College on Airport Road in Ishwardi upazila, said Arbinda Sarkar, officer-in-charge of Ishwardi Police Station.

The deceased are Asan Mollah, 70, and Jinnat Ali, 48, both residents of Natore's Lalpur upazila. They were passengers of the auto-rickshaw.

The injured were admitted to Ishwardi upazila health complex.

Police seized the truck but its driver managed to flee.

In Rajbari, a school-goer was killed and three others were injured as two motorcycles collided head-on in Charpaturia village under Kalukhali upazila.

The deceased Zamiul Hasan, 15, of Arkandi village was a tenth-grader at a local school.

Eamon, one of the injured, was riding a motorbike on Mirgi-Pansha road with Zamiul and another friend as pillions. They collided head-on with another motorbike on link road in Charpaturia village, said police.
