Admission to classes through lottery: Dipu Moni

Admission to classes for the next academic session will be conducted through lottery due to the Covid-19 situation.

Education Minister Dipu Moni said this while addressing a press conference virtually today.

Quota for admission of local students has been raised to 50 percent instead of previous 40 percent, the minister said.

She also said that next year's SSC and HSC exams may not be held in time due to the prevailing situation.

A brief syllabus of three months has been prepared for SSC candidates so that they can sit for the exam, proving their minimum qualification, Dipu Moni said, adding, "We will hold SSC exams on completion of the syllabus.

In case of HSC, the result of SSC will be given priority, she added.
