Commodore Golam Rabbani murder: bail prayer of convict accused denied

The appellate division has denied the bail prayer of the convict Abu Naser Chowdhury, accused in Commodore Golam Rabbani murder case, and disposed of his bail application with direction to the jail authority for referring him to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for treatment.

The court also directed the authorities concerned to take back the accused to jail after the conclusion of his treatment.

Senior Advocate Nazrul Islam Chowdhury prayed for bail for the convict on medical grounds.

Attorney General AM Amin Uddin appeared for the state and opposed the bail prayer.

Commodore Golam Rabbani, former aide-de-camp of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the former Managing Director of Korean Export Processing Zone (KEPZ), was shot by criminals at Muradpur in Chattogram on April 11, 2004.
