A compartment of a freight train derailed in Gazipur's Tongi this morning.
Rail operation on the up line of on the Dhaka-Chattogram route remained suspended following the incident till 10:30am, the time of filing of the report.

The incident took place around 4:30am, Tongi Railway Station Master Rakib Hossain told our local correspondent.

On information, a rescue team reached the spot to salvaged the derailed compartment, the station master said adding that a five-member probe body was investigating the incident.
