Rahima Begum, who has been missing from Uttar Banikpara in Khulna since August 27 last month, was found alive at Syedpur village under Boalmari upazila of Faridpur last night (September 24, 2022), said police.
Rahima went into hiding herself, reports our Khulna correspondent quoting Lutfar Haidar, sub-inspector of Daulatpur Police Station and first investigation officer of the case.

Mariam Mannan, daughter of Rahima Begum, told The Daily Star last night, "My mother was rescued alive from Faridpur. Police are now taking her to Khulna."
"Seeing a video sent by my friend, I am sure that she is my mother. However, we do not know the details of how she went to Faridpur. Only she can say that," she added.
PBI Inspector Abdul Mannan, the current investigating officer of the case said they rescued Rahima from Syedpur village at the upazila around 10:30 pm. She is being taken to Khulna now.
Earlier on Friday, three daughters of Rahima Begum, including Mariam, claimed that a body that was recovered 12 days ago in Mymensingh was their mother's.
Rahima's daughters had been searching for her for nearly a month saying that her mother went missing.
On August 27, Rahima Begum went to collect water from the tube well of her house in Maheshwarpasha's Uttar Banikpara area of Daulatpur upazila in Khulna around 10:30 pm. Since then she had been missing.
That night, her family members filed a general diary at Daulatpur Police Station after being failed to find her at all the possible places. Later, the victim's daughter Adri Akhter (22), filed a case with the police facility accusing some people.
Police have arrested six people in the case so far.
On September 14, a court ordered to transfer the case to PBI. The PBI then accepted the documents on September 17, following due process. PBI Inspector Abdul Mannan was given the charge to investigate the case.
Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Daulatpur Police Station, said police and Rab arrested six people, including Rahima husband's Helal Howlader, in connection with the case.
