Parliament secretariat director Labannya Ahmed no more

Director of Public Relation Department of Parliament Secretariat Labannya Ahmed passed away at Tata Medical Centre in Kolkata today.

She was 58, an official release said.

She is survived by three sons and a host of relatives and admirers.

Labannya Ahmed performed her duties as a public relation officer with utmost sincerity and highest professional excellence.

She earned love, affection, and respects in her professional arena for her honesty, well-behavior, and helping mindset.

Labannya did her master's degree in Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Dhaka University. She started her career as assistant director in the public relations department of the Parliament Secretariat.

Labannya Ahmed is a niece of Shaheed Shahidullah Kaiser and Shaheed Zahir Raihan. Her father Nasir Ahmed is an organiser and weapon trainer of the Liberation War and the plaintiff in the intellectual murder case filed in 1972. Her mother Shahensha Begum is a dedicated member of the Ghatak-Dalal Nirmul Committee.

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury expressed deep shock at the death of Parliament secretariat director Labannya.

She prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
