Nurul Quader, 22, an employee of the depot in Sitakunda, breathed his last at the Incentive Care Unit of Parkview Hospital in Chattogram city.

"Nurul sustained severe burn injuries and he was admitted to the general unit on June 4 night. As his condition deteriorated, he was moved to the ICU and put on life support. He died around 1:30pm," said Humayun Kabir, deputy general manager of Parkview Hospital.

Firefighter Gausul Azam died at the ICU of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in the capital, said its Resident Surgeon SM Aiyub Hossain.

Gausul, 22, who had 70 percent of his body burnt, was flown to Dhaka from Chattogram, the physician said.

Hailing from Jashore, Gausul joined the fire service in 2018. He left behind his wife and a six-month-old boy.

Investigators have said the depot had at least 27 containers carrying hydrogen peroxide which led to the deadly explosion.
