On December 2, two Bishop Michael Eldon School (BMES) students were each awarded scholarships of $1,500 for their academic and athletic achievements.

The seventh-graders, Markaylah Foster and Keyzera Thomas, received the Lady Laurie Miller and Anita Doherty rewards, respectively. Markaylah, a past Grace Christian Academy valedictorian, continues to push herself both off and on the softball field, placing third in her seventh-grade class this year.

Keyzera, a previous Freeport Gospel Chapel School Student of the Year, has her eyes set on becoming an Olympian following in the legacy of the Bahamas Golden Girls relay team.
