Police on Tuesday charged a second suspect with the January 3, 2021 murder of Deandre Thompson.

Adari Wright, 27, who had been named a person of interest in the murder two years ago, made his first appearance before Magistrate Shaka Serville yesterday.

Prosecutors say Thompson was in a car on Sapodilla Boulevard when he was accosted by a gunman who fatally shot him.

Wright was not required to enter a plea to the murder charge and bail was denied.

He returns to court in September for the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment.

Wright’s co-accused, Cleso Rolle, was charged with the murder in February 2021.
