Seize the opportunity

EDITOR, The Tribune.

As Prime Minister Philip Edward “Brave” Davis and his New Day Government thrive, flourish and grow abundantly, opportunities continue to pop up in favour of our country’s economy and by extension, the PLP government.

With the recent purchase of the Lucayan Resort and “Carnival’s Ground breaking” ceremony, Prime Minister Davis; though hit the ground running immediately after the 2021 General Election; up to this point he hasn’t stopped yet, which means, many more great things are going to happen for The Bahamas.

Are these investors who are flocking to The Bahamas, blessings or coincidence?

In any event, Prime Minister Davis is ensuring that the Bahamian people at the lower end of the spectrum, enjoys and reaps the majority of the benefits from our country’s economy.

My personal view and opinion, Prime Minister Davis is another Sir Lynden Pindling, in that he carefully choses his cabinet with smart, dynamic and dedicated young men and women.

Particularly young women like: Jobeth Coleby Davis, Pia Glover Rolle and Glenys Hanna Martin.

With regards to Minister Coleby Davis; having met with her on about four or more occasions, am confident and convinced that she is a strong, great, dedicated and committed young woman.

I, therefore, call upon Minister Davis to seize the opportunity and convince the Prime Minister and her Cabinet colleagues to purchase the Crystal Symphony and the Crystal Serenity, those two cruise ships that are registered in The Bahamas and are up for sale. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for our country and economy. The purchase of the Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity will cause the Bahamas to increase its revenue; more job opportunity for Bahamians and an improved tourism product.

Perhaps this concept is unprecedented, but wouldn’t it be just as our National Airline Bahamasair? We would now have our own “National Cruiseline” which in my opinion is long overdue. We would be able to service our seven hundred islands, the Caribbean and the United States, which gives the Bahamas an advantage over all other cruise lines. So let’s do this, Minister Davis.
