An unlawful sexual intercourse case dating back to 2012 was dismissed Friday after prosecutors entered a nolle prosequi.

Prosecutors had accused Duke Moss Sr. of having unlawful sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old girl between September 1 and October 2, 2012.

The matter came to an end without a trial after prosecutors withdrew the case against the now-55-year-old man.

Senior Justice Bernard Turner told Moss that, in theory, prosecutors could reinstate the case.

Meanwhile, an August 15 trial date was vacated after prosecutors withdrew their case against Darron Eric Mackey Jr.

Mackey was accused of having unlawful sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl on September 12, 2020.

However, the matter was discontinued at the direction of Acting DPP Franklyn Williams, QC, on Friday.
