A 41-year-old woman was in hospital yesterday after she became the unintentional target when she was shot in Bain Town shortly after 2:25 p.m. yesterday, police said.

Police said they were alerted to the shooting via their ShotShotter technology.

The woman was shot in the upper torso while on Cambridge Street after two males on a black Crypton motorcycle fired a weapon at a man who was pursued but managed to get away, according to information received by police.

Police said the woman was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital via private vehicle and was in stable condition. 

The man who was being pursued was “assisting” police in the matter.

Police made their usual appeal to members of the public who might have information on this incident to contact them.
