Two Saskatchewan children found in South Dakota, Amber alert canceled

South Dakota authorities have found two missing Saskatchewan children. The child is believed to have been with a convicted sex offender.

On Wednesday morning, the Saskatchewan RCMP and South Dakota police canceled the Amber Alert for the 7-year-old and her 8-year-old. Their mother was also believed to have been with the children.

The four suspects were found and were informed they were with South Dakota officials," the RCMP said on Wednesday.

South Dakota Public Safety told Global News that the children were found late Tuesday.

At this time the children are safe with legal authorities and plans are being made to take them to Canada. there is the department said.

The suspect was detained without incident, he added.

The Saskatchewan RCMP issued an amber warning for children on Monday night and said late Tuesday that the warning had been extended to South Dakota.
