Sean Murphy hit two homers and prospect Shai Langeliers achieved his first major league feat Wednesday night, helping the Oakland Athletics to a 7-2 win over the Texas Rangers in Arlington, Texas.
Murphy added a double, drove in three runs and scored three runs. Catchers have gone deep for him three times in the last two games.
Langeliers hit his first home run as a designated hitter, making it his second game in the big leagues. A shot to right-center highlighted the four-run eighth inning that started the game.
The A's are now on a winning streak, and he's won two of his three in a four-game series that ends Thursday.
For the Rangers, the loss added to the frustration of the franchise.
Early Wednesday, the state of Texas announced that baseball operations president Jon Daniels was removed from his duties. General Manager Chris Young is currently responsible for baseball operations. And on Monday, manager Chris Woodward was replaced by interim manager Tony Beasley.

At the Rangers, Corey Seager singled and scored on Adris Garcia's RBI his double. In the ninth inning, Mark Mathias hit an RBI double to score Texas' second run.
