According to a notice filed Monday, Alberta's Justice Secretary will intervene in a competitive court proceedings regarding the $ 26 billion merger of Rogers Communications and Shaw Communications.
The notice of intervention states that the "success and failure" of a transaction will affect Alberta's consumers and the state's economy.
Also, the Attorney General has stated that he is "not in a position" on this transaction at this time.
Shaw is headquartered in Calgary and provides wireless services to more than 2 million customers across the state through its Freedom Mobile and Shaw Mobile businesses.
