Two bodies found in burnt-out car A car stolen outside Summerland over the weekend was found crashed during a police chase in Abbotsford, killing both residents a day later.

The RCMP's Southeastern District Major Crimes Division determined that two people were murdered in a burning vehicle found Saturday morning on Garnet Valley Road.

"Investigators now believe that the two persons in his vehicle died as a result of foul play, and determined that the stolen vehicle was related to this murder." ," he said in a B.C. news release of his RCMP on Tuesday.

Abbotsford police found the stolen car the day after the body was found. The car was "flagged as having ties to human remains."

A police chase ensued, and the stolen vehicle lost control and crashed on Maclure Road, fatally injuring the male driver and female passenger. The Independent Investigative Service is investigating the police response to the accident.

"The RCMP homicide investigation is ongoing, including the identification of the victim and the extent to which the stolen vehicle was involved."
