VADNAIS HEIGHTS, Minnesota — of three young people A woman suspected of being a child and mother has been recovered from the body of Lake Minnesota, and authorities say the dead are being investigated as a murder.
Meanwhile, the body of the child's father was found elsewhere a few hours ago. The name was not announced as of Saturday afternoon. All children under the age of 5 were two boys and one girl.
The sequence of events began on Friday morning when a man's body was found in a mobile home in the town of Maplewood near Minneapolis. Police determined that the woman had left with her children and the search began.
Maplewood Police Lieutenant Joe Steiner said a woman's car was found near Lake Vadne around 4 pm. Friday. Children's shoes were found on the shore.
The Ramsey County Sheriff's Office stated that the body of the first child was recovered from the lake around 7:30 pm. Friday. The body of the second child was found after midnight. The bodies of a third child and woman were found around 10:30 am on Saturday.
The body was taken to a coroner.
"Nothing is more tragic than losing a young child," Sheriff Bob Fletcher of Ramsey County said at a press conference on Friday. He said he considered the murder of death.
