After a long absence, Atlanta Braves rejuvenated outfielder Ediro Zario (eyes) and left-handed Tyler Mazek (shoulder) from the list of injured on Monday.
Rosario has been out since late April after laser treatment to correct the blurred vision and swelling of his right eye. Matzek has been out since mid-May after experiencing shoulder discomfort.
In a corresponding move, Braves chose Mike Ford in the infield as the Triple A Gwinnet and assigned the right-handed Silvino Bracho to the assignment.
Rosario, 30, was the key to winning the Braves World Series title last season. He was named MVP of the National League Championship Series after achieving .560 (14 to 25) in three home runs and nine RBIs in six games.
But so far this season, Rosario has hit only 0.068 (3 vs. 44) in 15 games. He last played on April 24th.
Matzek, 31, finally appeared in the game on May 10th. He is 0-1 and ERA is 5.06 in 13 games this season. The post-season hero of 2021 said he was in pain two weeks before IL Stint.
Matzek achieved 2.57 ERA in 69 relief appearances in 2021. He took 13 appearances and 15 he stepped up further in the stellar postseason, which was 3-0 with 1.72 ERA in 2/3 innings and 24 strikeouts. To help Braves win the World Series.
