Milwaukee Brewers has put right-handed pitcher Adrian Houser on the 15-day injured list due to right-flexor tension, the team announced on Friday.
Hauser ended the match against the Pittsburgh Pirates with elbow discomfort after 2 1/3 innings. The first test didn't reveal much seriousness, but Hauser was sent back to Milwaukee for an MRI during the Brewers' six-game road trip.
Injuries hindered Milwaukee's pitching staff throughout the season, as both Freddy Peralta (shoulder) and Aaron Ashby (forearm) are currently in the IL. Meanwhile, Brandon Woodruff returned to action after a month off on Tuesday. Ankle injury.
Hauser's injury is of particular concern given that he had Tommy John's surgery in 2016.
The 29-year-old right-handed player has an ERA of 4.72 with a 4-8.
Trevor Kelly was summoned from Triple A Nashville with a corresponding move. He has made 14 reliefs to the Brewers this season, with an ERA of 6.88, 1-0. Kelly previously pitched to the Boston Red Sox (2019) and Philadelphia Phillies (2020).
