WNBA star Brittney Griner, who has been detained in Russia for over four months, wrote a letter to the White House from her representative and took him home to President Joe Biden. I asked for help.

Greener was arrested on February 17, a few days before Russia invaded Ukraine, before she boarded a plane from Moscow to the United States.
Currently, the Phoenix Mercury Center faces drug shipping charges that can impose up to 10 years' imprisonment if convicted. Greener's trial began on Friday in a court near Moscow.
Given the tensions between the United States and Russia over the latter war in Ukraine, Russia's detention of Grinner has been seen as a negotiating ploy.
Grinner's letter was delivered to Biden around the same time as Independence Day.
"On July 4, our family usually honors the service of those who fought for our freedom, including my father, a veteran of the Vietnam War," Greener said. I am writing. "It's hard to think about how I always celebrate this day, as this year means something completely different from freedom.
