Calgary — Canada — Canada is the future IIHF World Junior Added defenseman Ethan Del Mastro to the Hockey Championship roster.

Del Mastro recently played and captained his hockey team in his third season with the Mississauga Steelheads in Ontario, his league, and in his 68 games in the regular season he scored 48 points ( 7 goals and 41 assists).

He helped his Canadian under-18 team win the gold medal at the 2021 IIHF U18 World Championships.

Hockey Canada announced Sunday that Demon Hunt of Brandon, Manitoba, will not play in the tournament that opens Tuesday in Edmonton due to an injury.

Canada will face Sweden in a pre-tournament game on Monday. The Canadians start their tournament against Latvia on Wednesday.
