A child left in a hot car by his father died in North Carolina: police

Mebane, NC — 1 year old North Carolina Children's Police He died on Friday after his father went to work and was left in a hot car.

The Mebane police station said police officers answered calls from the manufacturing plant after 12:20 pm. Following the report of someone in cardiac arrest, according to local news outlets.

When police arrived, CPR was in force, but the youth could not be resuscitated, police said.

Police said the child's father was working in a factory and had his baby in the car. Investigators have not determined exactly how long the child has been in the car.

Police do not disclose the name of the father or child. No charges had been filed as of Friday afternoon and the investigation was ongoing.

Mebane is a community located about 70km northwest of the state capital, Raleigh.
