Kigali, Rwanda — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau launched a series of private meetings in Rwanda on Friday to make the federal nations Canada's climate target. That view of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Trudeau arrived in Kigali for the Federal Summit on Wednesday, but the summit will officially begin on Friday at an executive and bilateral meeting.

Trudeau's schedule includes a meeting with former Prime Minister Chad, Musafaki Mahamato.

Mahamat is the chair of a committee that acts as the secretariat of the African Union, which was the center of the tug of war between Ukraine and Russia.

The two countries have been fighting for friendship in Africa as the fierce conflict continues in Ukraine and fuel costs and grain shortages are skyrocketing worldwide.

Trudeau also plans to sit with the leaders of Antigua and Barbuda, Ghana and Zambia.

The Prime Minister was scheduled to meet with Rwanda's President Paul Kagame on Thursday, but the meeting was delayed.

The Federation contains a diverse group of 54 independent countries with historical ties to the British Crown.
