Dog attack on two kids, adult in Aurora stopped with knife

A woman and two young girls were taken to hospital after being attacked by their family dog in Aurora Thursday night.

York Regional Police were called to Vines Place in the Bayview Ave. and Vandorf Sideroad area just before 9 p.m.

“The girls were aged two and 13 and an adult female were all taken to hospital,” said Sgt. Andy Pattenden, who had no details on the injuries.

“The dog (an American bulldog) was dead when we arrived,” he said.

It’s believed the adult female stabbed the dog with a knife.

Neighbours, who described the dog as “a very dangerous, scary animal,” said they various complaints had been made to bylaw officers about the owner often allowing the “aggressive” animal off leash while out for a walk.
