It is the third time Montreal police have had to investigate fires at the Lachine site and the fourth time for the address in St-Laurent.
Two fires broke out within 30 minutes of each other early Thursday in the boroughs of Lachine and St-Laurent, heavily damaging eight cars.
There were no injuries reported in either incident and the fires did not spread to nearby buildings, police said.

The first fire was reported around 1:30 a.m. on Pacifique St. in Lachine. Four cars parked in a commercial lot were set ablaze and while no traces of flammables were found, it is the third time such an incident has occurred at the site.
Last May 16, 30 vehicles were destroyed after being set on fire at two different sites in Lachine, one of them on Pacifique St.
Thursday’s second fire broke out at 2 a.m., damaging four cars parked on Lebeau Blvd. near Gince St. in St-Laurent. In this case, flammables were found at the scene and police said it is the fourth time such an event has occurred at the site.
Both incidents remain under investigation and police will examine local surveillance cameras in an effort to determine what occurred.
Two other apparent cases of arson targeting automobiles have also been reported this week — one seeing a vehicle set on fire in the driveway of a private residence on 12th Ave. in the city’s St-Michel district, the other damaging two cars parked in a commercial lot on Notre Dame St. in Montreal East.
