Boston Red Sox first baseman Eric Hosmer was ejected after fouling a ball behind his knee in the fourth inning against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night.
The Red Sox said Hosmer suffered a bruise on his left knee.
Hosmer finished the at-bat — a strikeout — but Bobby Dalbeck replaced him first and started the fifth inning. Hosmer finished 0-2. 200 in his first three games since joining the Reds in a trade with the Padres to San Diego at deadline last week. . 268 with 8 home runs and his 41 RBIs this season.
