Spring isn't here yet, but preparations for this year's flooding season are already under way.

Photo by Pierre Obendrauf /The Gazette Preparations for this year’s flooding season are under way in the city of Drummondville, as ice breaking equipment is deployed to break-up ice jams on the Saint-François River.
Floating excavation equipment has already been put to work near the city’s hydro-electric dam and will then move to the dam at Hemmings Falls.
The equipment is then scheduled to be moved upstream to the sector between Hemmings Falls and De l’Aéroport Rd.
Civil protection authorities are reporting that at the moment, water levels on the Saint-François Chaudière, Outaouais and Saint Lawrence rivers are normal, as are those on Lac Saint-Pierre and Lake Champlain.
