Florida Attorney On Wednesday, it sued Gov. Ron DeSantis, who was suspended earlier this month for not prosecuting people who seek or provide abortions.
In a lawsuit filed in federal court in Tallahassee, Florida https://tmsnrt.rs/3waZIMM, prosecutor Andrew Warren argued that DeSantis' suspension violated his First Amendment rights and the Florida Constitution. He said he had asked to be reinstated.
DeSantis' office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
"Today we took action against Ron DeSantis' abuse of power and illegal suspension," Warren wrote in his Twitter post. Jean-Jacques Cabou, his attorney at Perkins Coie Law Firm, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It is an official and an elected office.

In addressing the state attorney's suspension, DeSantis said Warren "cannot choose the law to enforce based on his personal agenda." The governor is lobbying conservatives for a possible 2024 presidential election.
Florida law prohibits abortion after the 15th week of pregnancy.
Warren claimed in his lawsuit that he was suspended in retaliation for exercising his First Amendment rights. Under the Florida Constitution, state attorneys can choose which cases to pursue, the lawsuit says.
